When we feel heard, seen, and understood, healing and growth are possible.
I approach working with clients in an empathic, compassionate, and collaborative manner. In our work together, I will help guide you into internal reflection and inquiry to assist you in uncovering the core of what you are struggling with. Ultimately this way of working can help each person get in touch with their own answers and innate capacity for healing. In therapy, we will go beyond “fixing” problems, and begin to see that your symptoms (such as anxiety, low self-esteem, self-criticism, etc.) are alerts that point us to deeper issues that take time to uncover and process. Diving into these deeper issues and essentially getting to the roots of one’s struggles in therapy can help to eventually create new patterns and healthier ways of relating to self and others.
In my individual therapeutic work, I specialize in working with folks who have experienced relational trauma (also called developmental trauma or attachment trauma) and are uncovering & recovering from dysfunctional family dynamics. Most of the clients I work with struggle with varying levels of shame, anxiety, low self-esteem and/or insecurity; feel that they are “not enough” or “too much;” as well as hold negative core beliefs that they are "messed up" or "bad" in some way. If this sounds like you, I would be honored to work with you and help you reduce this internal shame and come to experience yourself in a more accepting light. My therapeutic approach is trauma informed and rooted in interpersonal neurobiology, attachment theory, and depth psychology. I also enjoy utilizing parts work, emotion-focused interventions, sand tray, body based approaches, as well as creative processes such as movement, art making, and dream work.
If you feel you would like to work together, please reach out! I offer 15 minute phone consultations so that we can meet and see if you would like to pursue working together. My current rate for individual therapy is $130 per session. I do not currently take insurance. However, some insurance plans will allow you to submit a super bill for sessions and reimburse you for therapy from an out of network provider. This is something you can inquire with your insurance company about. You can also use an HSA to pay for sessions. I do reserve a few sliding scale spots for clients based on need, so please feel free to reach out if you would like to talk about this possibility.
